Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal, two artists who have made several of our year end lists in the past, have announced that they’re once again joining forces, this time for a full-length collaborative album. It’s called Doomed! and drops August 14th via billy woods’ Backwoodz label.
“In recent years, Kenny made it very clear that he wasn’t trying to keep having one or two beats on my projects; he wanted to build something,” Open Mike Eagle explained. “I was able to convince him to let me use a couple beats for Neighborhood Gods Unlimited with the caveat that we would focus on our thing next. Then my relationship fell apart right when we started working, and it was like, ‘Perfect, I have a lot to say about this.’”
The first single, “Unfinished Concrete Initials,” features Hemlock Ernst (Samuel T Herring of Future Islands) and is out now. Check it out below. You can also pre-order the album on vinyl here.
