Former New York tourism ambassador Taylor Swift will reportedly attend Wednesday’s NBA Finals Game 4 at Madison Square Garden between the hometown Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, according to Page Six.
“She’s a huge fan of the Knicks and really wants to be there to support them,” a source reportedly told the gossip site. “She is going with friends.”
In late May, Swift caused somewhat of a commotion with New York fans when she attended the Cleveland Cavaliers-hosted Eastern Conference Finals Game 3 against the Knicks with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, an Ohio native.
Last week, Kelce gave an explanation on his New Heights podcast, clarifying that he wasn’t trying to turn Swift into a Cleveland sports fan.
“This was me just having a fun date night knowing that I love going to basketball games,” he said. “We actually tried to go to a game in New York, but I was stuck in Kansas City. I love bringing her into the sports world that I appreciate.”
Swift attended several Knicks games in the mid-2010s, even sitting courtside next to longtime fan Ben Stiller. Around that time, she posed for photos with some of the team’s former players, including Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire.
The pop star is currently in the midst of promoting Toy Story 5, which features her original song “I Knew It, I Knew You.” During the Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday, Swift delivered a surprise performance of the track and performed a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” with Randy Newman. She also got Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to sign her Toy Story VHS.
Also reportedly scheduled for Game 4 is a halftime performance by New York’s own Wu-Tang Clan.
