Yesterday (March 31) developers IO Interactive announced DJ Dimitri Vegas will be joining the cast in an unannounced role. “As part of this standalone, re-imagined origin story for James Bond in video games, players will be able to cross paths with Dimitri Vegas’ character during the game’s globe-spanning mission,” explained a press release.

“I’ve been a fan of Bond for as long as I can remember, so stepping into the world of 007 First Light is a real honour,” added Vegas. “IO Interactive is creating something bold and cinematic, and I can’t wait for players to meet my character and experience the game for themselves.”

Vegas actually leaked the news during his set at electronic dance festival Tomorrowland Winter over the weekend. Taking to the stage in France’s Alpe d’Huez, he performed a ravey remix of the iconic James Bond theme which will appear in 007: First Light. Check out a snippet below:

Fans are also convinced Lana Del Rey has recorded an original song for the new James Bond game after the singer registered a track called ‘First Light’ with the American Society Of Composers, Authors And Publishers. Del Rey previously wrote a song for 2015’s Spectre, but creators went for Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ instead.

007: First Light had been due to launch last month but was delayed until May 27 to give developers extra time to “further polish and refine” the game.

In other news, Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto has shut down rumours of a Super Smash Bros. movie following the inclusion of Star Fox’s Fox McCloud in the Mario Galaxy Movie.
