Richard Ashcroft has played a huge show at The O2 in London where he dedicated tracks to Liam Gallagher and late dog Betsy, and also launched a new clothing range with Tacchini x Modfather.

The gig took place on Saturday night (March 28) at the arena in London as part of Ashcroft’s run of huge 2026 headline dates, and came in celebration of his seventh studio LP, ‘Lovin’ You’, which was released in October.

At the gig, the singer kicked things off with his 2016 single ‘Hold On’, before breaking out more solo tracks and a handful of material from his time fronting The Verve.

After playing ‘Space And Time’, ‘Velvet Morning’, ‘Weeping Willow’ and more, Ashcroft broke out the hit song ‘The Drugs Don’t Work’ and dedicated the track to his Jack Russell, Betsy, who recently died.

Before playing the song, he described the late pet as “beautiful” and said that he wanted to dedicate the song to “any of you out there who have suffered the loss of a pet”.

“They are so integral to our families and they give us so much, but the pain is so [hard] when they’ve got to go,” he said. “This one is for my beautiful Jack Russell. You’re my family, wherever you are.”

Later in the night, Ashcroft performed a medley of ‘History’, ‘On Your Own’, ‘These People’ and more, before launching into ‘C’mon People (We’re Making It Now)’ and dedicating it to Oasis icon Liam Gallagher.

Not only did the two of them record a version of the track together on Ashcroft’s ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol 1’ album, but the former Verve frontman also joined Oasis for their huge ‘Live ‘25’ comeback shows last year. “I wanna dedicate that song to Liam Gallagher,” he said after playing it, adding that their “voices sound good together”, and he would love to “do something more” with the Britpop giant, “but he’s doing real well as it is”.

As well as kicking off his 2026 tour dates, Ashcroft has also joined forces with Sergio Tacchini x Modfather for a second time for a new fashion capsule.

The collection, as usual, is rooted in British subculture and “blends mod heritage, military inspired outerwear and Sergio’s classic tennis aesthetic”. Them joining forces comes success of the Richard Ashcroft x Sergio Tacchini limited edition collection in the summer of 2025 – around the time that Ashcroft was supporting Oasis.

The new launch reflects how the singer has often sported a field jacket while playing live over the years, and therefore adds two vintage military inspired outerwear pieces to the collection. The limited edition jacket has been reworked in two classic camouflage designs. They each have a gold zipper clasp and gold Sergio Tacchini embroidered logo to the chest, as well as ‘RA’ details.

“I was fortunate enough to be in the crowd at Heaton Park last Summer to watch Richard Ashcroft support Oasis. When he took to the stage and removed his black leather Harrington, he was wearing our Sergio Tacchini Track Jacket and T-shirt, which took me by complete surprise,” said Daniel Warner, Co-Owner of Modfather.

“I don’t mind admitting to shedding a few tears. As a lifelong fan of Richard’s music and style, it was a very surreal moment and one I’ll never forget. I’m looking forward to seeing him at the O2 on Saturday and Alexandra Palace in the Summer.”

As well as his upcoming headline shows, Ashcroft will also be headlining Sheffield’s Rock N’ Roll Circus this summer, as well as Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington and TRNSMT in Glasgow.
