Kid Rock took a ride with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in a US Army Apache helicopter just weeks after an investigation concerning two similar helicopters hovering near the musician’s home. Among other reasons for the flight, Kid Rock filmed videos for his upcoming “Freedom 250 Tour.”
Hegseth posted photos of his day with Kid Rock on X/Twitter, writing, “Joined my friend @KidRock — and some of our great @USArmy Apache pilots — for a ride this morning. (More to come on that!) Kid Rock is a patriot and huge supporter of our troops. The War Department is wasting no time celebrating America’s 250th — home of the free because of the brave.”
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell stated, “Today, Army helicopters operated in the National Capital Region in support of a Freedom 250th community relations event. As a part of that event, Robert ‘Kid Rock’ Ritchie participated in multiple troop touches with service members and filmed videos for Memorial Day, America’s 250th birthday, and for his Freedom 250 tour.”
In a video from his home, where he showed off various personal collectibles, Kid Rock teased, “The ‘Freedom 250 Tour’ kicks off in Dallas [on] Friday night, and it’s very, very special. It’s all about celebrating America, 250 years of freedom… and I may be coming to each show in an Apache helicopter, which should send far-left liberals into complete breakdown in tears, if it happens.”
It remains to be seen if Kid Rock meant an actual Apache helicopter at each show, or if he was referring to the videos he filmed on his ride with Hegseth.
Last month, the US Army launched an investigation and suspended an aircrew that flew Apache helicopters that hovered right next to Kid Rock’s Nashville home. However, Hegseth quickly lifted the suspension, writing on X/Twitter, “Thank you @KidRock. @USArmy pilots suspension lifted. No punishment. No investigations. Carry on, patriots.”
As Kid Rcok mentioned, his “Freedom 250 Tour” launches this Friday, May 1st, in Dallas, with tickets available here.
