Dan Stevens to Become RoboCop in New Prime Video Series

Dan Stevens has had a wild career, between his breakout work on Downton Abbey, the mind-bending experience that was Legion, and his more oddball appearances on shows like High Maintenance. Now, he’s set to succeed Peter Weller as the star of RoboCop, the Prime Video reboot of the classic Paul Verhoeven movie (hopefully ignoring the less successful sequels).

Stevens will play police officer Alex Murphy, who becomes the titular cyborg hero after a fatal incident. This isn’t the only IP being resurrected for Prime Video in the not-too-distant future — at Comic-Con last July, the Amazon-owned platform released first looks at the upcoming series Carrie and Blade Runner 2099.
