Yung Lean to present visual art exhibition in Stockholm

The exhibition, titled Collected Works 2016–2026, combines paintings, collages, works on paper, sculpture, dioramas, and a site-specific installation created over the past ten years — with most of the pieces having never been exhibited before. Håstad is self-taught, with his process of creating being described as "instinctive". The collection will also feature a new narrative short film, which Håstad has executive produced and starred in. All of the works will be presented as a series of connected environments rather than within the structure of a standard gallery setting, with Håstad choosing to organise the exhibition himself rather than recruiting an external curator or referring to the gallery framework. "Ever since I can remember I dreamed of colours," Håstad says. "I've made wooden sculptures and drawings and paintings since I was a kid. Just like my songs, the work is made through stream of consciousness. I go where the hand takes me. My paintings mean nothing and also everything. Here they are."
