Woman Turns Oscar Red Carpet Into Personal Rug After Finding It in Dumpster

1 week ago 11

Not every winner from Sunday’s Academy Awards necessarily took home an Oscar.

In a post to TikTok, LA-based artist/content creator Paige Thalia shares how she snagged a whole chunk of actual red carpet from Hollywood’s most magical evening. Turns out, every post-Oscars morning, busy maintenance crews at the Dolby Theatre just throw away hundreds of feet of carpet. (Right there at a dumpster on Hawthorne, seemingly steps from the star for famed songwriting duo Leiber & Stoller.)

And, if you’re as adventurous as Thalia (and willing to climb a little as well), you too could have snagged some for your very own abode. If it were myself in that very same position, I’d have taken enough to cover every wall in my place. Fortunately, Thalia is a little more reserved, adding just a touch of cinematic flair to her living room via a measured square. Not only is it totes classy, but who knows what famous feet sauntered across that rug?!
