Moby covered the Father Ted favourite ‘My Lovely Horse’ on stage in Dublin this week – watch footage below. READ MORE: Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?! – Moby The electronic pioneer played a show at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham yesterday (August 21) and towards the end of the set, he paid tribute to one of the country’s most beloved comedy songs. He introduced the track by telling the crowd, “If you need a new national anthem, may I suggest this song?” ‘My Lovely Horse’ featured in the classic Father Ted episode ‘A Song For Europe’, in which Ted and Dougal attempt to represent Ireland in the fictional Eurosong competition, only to finish with “nul points”. It was written by The Divine Comedy‘s Neil Hannon, alongside Father Ted creators Graham Linehan and Arthur Matthews, and was later included as a B-side on The Divine Comedy’s 1999 single ‘Gin Soaked Boy’.
