Following the news of the legendary Dolly Parton’s passing at the age of 80 on Tuesday, a spotlight has shined on her thrilling performance of the Led Zeppelin classic “Stairway to Heaven.” Parton recorded a bluegrass version of “Stairway to Heaven” for her 2002 album Halos & Horns, with the blessing of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. Later that year, she performed the song in concert as part of her tour in support of the album, and a pair of shows in December 2002 were recorded for her Live and Well concert album and DVD, released in 2004. Dolly’s voice is in fine form as she delivers a clean and crisp vocal throughout. The song was a favorite of Dolly’s husband Carl Dean, who passed away last year.
