Travis Barker has recalled the one time that getting high before a blink-182 show turned an otherwise normal set into an endurance test for both him and Tom DeLonge. During a new interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Barker was asked whether he has ever performed under the influence. The drummer explained that he avoided doing so because of how much he cares about his playing and the high-octane nature of blink-182’s shows. There was, however, a memorable exception. Barker initially resisted, explaining that he normally waited until after performing, but eventually gave in after they pointed out that they would be leaving right after. “Dude, let me tell you, it was the longest fucking show,” Barker recalled. “Songs felt like they lasted forever.” The effects were especially strange from behind the drum kit. “It was like my body was working, but everything up here was silent, and I was noticing stuff I don’t normally notice,” he said.
