Tom Morello Announces First Solo Rock Album, Unleashes “Date Night”: Stream

Tom Morello has announced his first solo rock album, titled Everyone Gets Everything They Want, out September 25th on Mom + Pop Music. Alongside the announcement comes the LP’s second single, “Date Night.” Get Tom Morello Tickets Here “Date Night” is another heavily political ripper from Morello, this time telling the true story of three young Dutch girls who seduced Nazi officers, luring them into the woods before killing them, along a parallel career of gunrunning, sabotage, and aiding Jewish children evading Nazi capture. Morello said of the song, “I make anti-racist songs for anti-racists. I make anti-fascist songs for anti-fascists. And I make anti-Nazi songs for anti-Nazis. ‘Date Night’ is really a ‘which side are you on?’ song. If any of that offends you, do the math. Oh, and Roman Morello wrote the killer riff in this tune.” This makes the second single that Tom Morello’s son Roman had a major hand in writing, with previous single “Adjourn It” also having its main riff penned by the young guitarist.
