The Womack Sisters announce self-titled debut album

2 weeks ago 14

The Womack Sisters follows the trio's 2022 Legacy EP. The announcement comes alongside their new track, “Chauffeur”, and its accompanying video, following earlier track “You Went Away Too Long”. On the track, Zeimani, BG, and Kucha reflect on their experiences of driving for Uber to make rent. Speaking about the song, Zeimani says: "It's about the hustle of life that we all are in – the day to day, trying to survive, and looking forward to your day in the sun. It’s a song for the underdogs.”

Across eleven tracks, each sister stands out at different moments to create a soulful collection of songs. They take influence from the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Smokey Robinson, and their grandfather, Sam Cooke. The trio presently have tour dates scheduled throughout the summer, which include an appearance at London's Cross the Tracks Festival, run of amphitheatre shows with Thee Sacred Souls and LA LOM, and a special performance with Al Green at the Hollywood Bowl on the day of release.
