The Mars Volta have announced a new live album titled Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business, due out September 4th digitally and October 16th on physical formats.
Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business is the Mars Volta’s first official live record since 2005’s Scabdates. It’s curation featured a unique gimmick, allowing fans to select which recording among several for each song made it on to the finished album. The album features a complete performance of their most recent studio album Lucro sucio; Los ojos del vacio.

The Mars Volta have debuted the track “Cue the Sun / Aba Del Orate” from the upcoming live album. The live version takes the starry-eyed psychedelia of the studio performance and amplifies it with typical Mars Volta noise guitar and intensity. The subdued vocal acts as an anchor while the synths, guitar and drums take the abstract shapes of the studio recording and push them out to evocative extremes.
The Mars Volta are currently preparing for a career-spanning US tour this September, including a date supporting My Chemical Romance, as well as an appearance at Louder Than Life.
