The nine-track collection follows the double A-side “naming you” and “swim in illyria,” which arrived earlier this year. “satisfied” employs a fuller band sound, exploring the pull between restlessness and wanting to feel settled. de clair said: “For a long time, my mind was too focused on the future. I wrote 'satisfied' out of pure frustration with how restless my mind was at the time.” Across veta begas, that restlessness is expanded. de clair described the record as being about “allowing yourself to be free. Not always having to know what you're doing, but doing it anyway.” She also points to the late twenties as “those fucked up years,” when choices start to carry more weight. Recorded partly in Kuldīga, Latvia, with producer and mixer Mikael Landén, the LP includes collaborations with Annika Norlin, Tor Sjödén, Elias Jungqvist of Viagra Boys, and Jorba. Norlin features on “twenty seven.” de clair said: “I think the best part of this album is how fun it has been to just collaborate with people.” She will play headline shows in Sweden this autumn, including Stockholm’s Fasching on 23 October, Malmö’s Victoriateatern on 5 November, and Göteborg’s Nefertiti on 6 November. veta beg...
