Susanna Hoffs Announces New Album The List Feat. Rufus Wainwright, Edie Brickell, Spencer Zahn, & More

Susanna Hoffs, the Bangles co-founder and solo artist, always has some new project in the pipeline, but she hasn't released an album of original material in 14 years. That's about to change.Hoffs released the covers album Bright Lights in 2021, occasioning one of our career-spanning We've Got A File On You interviews. She then put out a 25-year-old shelved album in 2024 under the title The Lost Record. Now she's ready to unveil The List, a new set of originals she co-produced with CJ Camerieri. The album features contributions from Rufus Wainwright, Edie Brickell, Dan Wilson, Greg Leisz, Ryan Lerman, Desure, Jesse Harris, Ny Oh, Grant Milliken, Larry Golding, and, intriguingly, Spencer Zahn. She'll be touring with a band that includes Camerieri, Lerman, Zahn, and JT Bates.Hoffs is billing The List as the sound of gathering around a table with her closest friends and sharing the stories of her life. The first of those stories, album opener "Casablanca," is out today. It's inspired by a rewatch of Casablanca and by an experience Hoffs shared walking through the French Quarter with Bob Weir in 1988, followed by a gathering swarm of Deadheads.
