Sunn O))) appear on the latest episode of Amoeba Records’ “What’s in My Bag?” series. The show is known for artists selecting albums, books, and more from around the store to showcase for viewers, giving an insight into the taste behind their work. Get Sunn O))) Tickets Here Sunn O)))’s Greg Anderson and Stephen O’Malley took no time at all providing surprises, opening with the John Lee Hooker blues album No Friend Around along with Bill Orcutt’s superb modern experimental jazz record Music in Continuous Motion. The duo also showcased some expected artists like Venom, Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, and Alice Coltrane, as well as some underground contemporary artists like the electroacoustic musician Beatriz Feneyra and experimental artist Joshua Abrahms. They also nabbed the raga album Call of the Valley by Shivkumar Sharma, Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Brijbhushan Kabra, as well as Gagaku Suites, a collection of traditional Japanese court music. The pair closed out their selections with the Gil Scott-Heron classic A Legend in His Own Mind, the newest Exodus album, and Rosalia’s Lux, which has proved surprisingly popular with experimental, progressive, and heavy music listeners.
