Slipknot’s Jim Root responds to rumours of Sid Wilson’s exit from band: “Don’t believe everything you read”

Slipknot‘s Jim Root has seemingly responded to rumours that Sid Wilson has been axed from the band, pointedly telling fans: “Don’t believe everything you read.” On Friday night (July 31), TMZ reported that Wilson, the band’s longtime DJ and keyboardist, had been permanently kicked out of the band – although no official word has come from Slipknot as yet. Likewise, there’s been no word on what led to the alleged split, but guitarist Root has urged fans to wait for more information. In a message shared to his Instagram Story shortly after news of Wilson’s exit emerged, Root said: “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. “Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.” The post, which didn’t mention Wilson by name, was soundtracked by Slipknot’s ‘Til We Die’. NME has reached out to Slipknot for comment.
