silt. – “trauma porn”

The press release for newly formed creative group silt. is elusive. They "exist between London and the inherited landscapes of the Lake District and Norfolk" and are not "a traditional band nor solo alias." Hell, there aren't even any names listed. But the fact remains, their new single "trauma porn" is eerie and gripping and intriguing.

"trauma porn" is, at times, dreamy and, at others, thorny. The track's latter half is really engaging, with drums that begin to fall apart and vocals spiraling into a tornado of sadness. The lyrics references flies, bones, and Demi Moore.

In the press release, the art collective shared a statement about the song:

"trauma porn" is about how hard it is to be alone - and the lengths people will go to to avoid sitting with themselves. It's interested in the realities we build, the emotional loops we trap ourselves inside. It embodies the volatility that comes from flicking through your own emotions and realities as if they’re pieces of content.
