See first look at newly-renamed The Simpsons movie

A first look at the second Simpsons movie was premiered at Disney‘s D23 Entertainment Showcase – check out footage below. The first Simpsons film was released in 2007 and following its release, an episode in season 19 (He Loves To Fly And He D’ohs) opened with Bart’s usual chalkboard gag, which saw him writing over and over on the board: “I will not wait 20 years to make another movie.” Creator Matt Groening went on to fulfil Bart’s prophecy, with the forthcoming sequel – which was announced by Disney last year – set to hit cinemas on September 3, 2027, exactly 20 years after the first film received its world premiere in Springfield, Vermont. Per The Wrap, the film – with a revamped title of The New Simpsons Movie – features clips of Homer and the gang at a baseball game as they chase a runaway ball. Eventually, the entire town is after it, with a mob flocking to Moe’s Tavern, where his pickled eggs are mistaken for the ball. In mostly storyboarded clips, the chase continues through a hospital and into the Duff Brewery, where the ball winds up in a giant tank of beer, with Homer chasing it through the refinery and eventually getting blasted out of a smokestack. #D23 the second half...
