Saoirse Ronan has revealed she wants to play a “dark” Bond villain in a future 007 movie. The Oscar nominee is known for her performances in award-winning dramas such as Little Women, Brooklyn, and Lady Bird, but told Empire she would relish the opportunity to play a villain in the James Bond series, which is currently in the casting process for its 26th instalment. “I want to go dark,” she explained. “I said that I wanted to be a Bond villain and I’m dead serious. I think it would be really interesting, having a young female villain. Especially for girls and women, to see someone who can just take all that pent-up anger and direct it somewhere, there’s something interesting in that dramatically. So I would love to do more of that.” There have been many female villains in the Bond series over the years, however they usually serve as a henchman for the main male villain.
