Sam Neill died Monday following a battle with pneumonia, his manager confirmed to TMZ. He was 78 years old.
The Jurassic Park actor had previously been diagnosed with stage-three blood cancer, but announced in April 2026 that he was cancer-free. He continued working throughout his treatment and has several posthumous projects set to be released in the future.
Neill will be honored by family and friends during a private ceremony at his family farm. In lieu of flowers, fans are encouraged to donate to the Dunstan Hospital Foundation, the Snowdome Foundation, or a fund supporting the protection and preservation of New Zealand’s wildlife, native bush, and land.
