Rhys Langston Announces New Album to live and die in E.U.L.A.: Hear Two Songs

The prolific Los Angeles underground rap staple Rhys Langston was a Stereogum Artist To Watch in 2022, and he has made a whole lot of playful, verbose, layered music since then. Langston released the album Pale Black Negative last year, and he teamed up with R.A.P. Ferreira and nahhphet on "Sound Of Horns" earlier this summer. Now, he's preparing to release a new LP called to live and die in E.U.L.A., and he's got two more songs out in the world. Thus far, Rhys Langston hasn't told us too many details about to live and die in E.U.L.A. — not even what the titular acronym stands for. (Google is trying to tell me that it's "End-User License Agreement," but that feels wrong. Either way, that's a great reference to a William Friedkin classic.) On his Bandcamp, though, Langston shared the new tracks "my grandmother's pecan tree" and "it's the fadeout..." They're lovely.Both of Langston's new songs have beats from young producer pty, and "my grandmother's pecan tree" features fellow LA-based underground rapper Kwame Adu.
