Pulp have announced a pop-up pub in Manchester, ahead of their massive Wythenshawe Park show. READ MORE: Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker interviewed: “This is like going back to when you start a band” The Sheffield Britpop icons will be playing the UK headline exclusive show at Wythenshawe Park on Friday (August 28), and have now confirmed that they will be taking over the Rat & Pigeon pub to mark the occasion. Set to open on Friday, the pub will be taken over by Pulp throughout the weekend – open from midday to 7pm on Friday (28), 12pm until late on Saturday (29) and 12pm until 2pm on Sunday (30). There will be a series of events held at the pub, including live music, as well as limited edition merchandise, competitions, and test pressings of the band’s upcoming live album, ‘Live!’. The jukebox is programmed by frontman Jarvis Cocker, and the venue will be decked out in rare Pulp paraphernalia borrowed from the band’s archive. “Do you want something different?” the frontman asked in a new statement. “Do you want to revitalise your social life?
