Stray Dogs arrives three years after the Southend band's previous album, Dead Club City. They teased the album with lead single "Evolution" released last week, of which they say: “It's a song that's not too concerned about finality. I think imperfection and authenticity is becoming ever more valuable and it's definitely something we're drawn to.
"We've spent some time trying to work out what's real and tangible about who we are and how we use our time. The people we travel the world with, the human moments on stage, the connection we make with those who come to our shows. That's real. It's a bit of a love letter to the people in our world in that way.”
For Stray Dogs, Nothing But Thieves returned to Angelic Studios, where they recorded their self-titled debut album, released just over a decade ago. Stray Dogs was written over a period of five months, and is said to speak to "the power of community, belonging and the collective shared experiences that unite outsiders".
The band have also announced their biggest headline tour to date, set to kick off in January 2027. This will include dates across UK & Ireland, Europe, the United States and Canada, with shows at The O2 London, Glasgow's OVO Hydro, and more.
