Noel Gallagher is currently “writing songs for fun”, says Johnny Marr

Johnny Marr has said that Noel Gallagher is currently “writing songs for fun” – although it isn’t clear whether or not it could be new Oasis material. He’s writing songs for fun, recording songs, enjoying himself, sending me hilarious WhatsApp’s — usually about Manchester United and lots and lots of effects pedals. [That] is the way our relationship has gone for 30 odd years now.” While Marr didn’t shed any further detail on what kind of music Gallagher was working on, the comments align with what Noel shared with talkSPORT back in February that he was “in the studio now”.
