My Chemical Romance kicked off the second North American leg of their highly theatrical “The Black Parade Tour” at New York’s Citi Field on Sunday evening, performing the entirety of their 2006 album The Black Parade as well as a handful of other tracks from across their discography. Following an opening set from Franz Ferdinand, MCR’s show began with their dramatic performance of The Black Parade, complete with costumes, choreographed set pieces, guest vocalists, propagandistic media parodies, and pyrotechnics. After the album performance concluded, the band took a brief pause before heading out onto the B-Stage placed in the center of the stadium.
