The newest trailer for the upcoming Moana confirms that director Thomas Kail is doing his damnedest to make sure that the live-action adaptation resembles the animated movie as much as possible. This includes the full reveal of Dwayne Johnson as Maui, his once-animated physique not rendered in reality by a full-body muscle suit.
The trailer also teases some of the original film’s most-earworm-y needle drops and the CGI creatures Moana will meet along the way. Check it out below. This very essential adaptation arrives in theaters on July 10th, 2026.
