Mariah Carey Announces 25th Anniversary Glitter Reissue, Shares Reimagined “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On”: Stream

Mariah Carey is marking 25 years of Glitter with an expanded reissue of her once-maligned 2001 album, due October 30th via Def Jam and UMe. To mark the occasion, she has unveiled a newly reimagined version of “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On” featuring British-Canadian singer-songwriter Rochelle Jordan. Stream it below. Produced by KLSH, the new rendition arrives ahead of an expanded digital deluxe edition of Glitter featuring 15 additional tracks. The bonus material will include rare and previously unreleased recordings pulled from Carey’s personal vault, though the complete tracklist has yet to be revealed. The anniversary celebration will also bring Glitter back to vinyl for the first time since its original release. The standard two-LP edition comes pressed on purple vinyl, while the deluxe version arrives on pink vinyl with three bonus tracks: “Out Here on My Own,” “Never Too Far/Hero (Medley),” and the original version of “Loverboy,” which samples Yellow Magic Orchestra’s “Firecracker.” A limited number of copies with signed lithographs and foil numbering will also be available.
