Armor brings LIA LIA’s alt-pop sound to a full-length collection for the first time, with “Audacity” arriving as the second preview of the album, following “Boogiepop Blitzkrieg Blob”. On the track, LIA LIA experiments with 1990s grunge-toned guitars, symbolising a vulnerable release for the artist in what is described as a “fearless and uncompromising” body of work.
The new album reflects a fresh creative era for LIA LIA, which first came to light in New York, when she was invited to perform at Park Avenue Armory by contemporary artist Anne Imhof in DOOM. The three-hour production combined theatre, dance, skateboarding, and music, and saw LIA LIA perform alongside Munky, Talia Ryder, Eliza Douglas, and Devon Teuscher.
With a creative community behind her, LIA LIA was inspired to leave behind her self-described “babypunk” era, and push the boundaries of her creativity with Armor.
