Lena Dunham and Carly Rae Jepsen’s musical adaptation of the movie 10 Things I Hate About You is scheduled to hit Broadway in 2027. The movie was a loose adaptation of the William Shakespeare play The Taming Of The Shrew. Dunham will co-write the production’s book with Jessica Huang, while Jepsen will write the songs alongside Ethan Gruska. Variety reports that the show will begin preview performances from August 17, 2027. Details on casting and what theatre will house the show are yet to be announced. The logline for the musical calls it a “rebellious” musical about “growing up, discovering yourself, and refusing to live by others’ expectations.
