LEGO’s New Batman Returns Batmobile Splits into the Batmissile, Comes with Michael Keaton Minifig

This is one LEGO set you won’t want to save for next Christmas. LEGO has unveiled its new adult-targeted Batman set: a 17-inch model of the iconic Batman Returns Batmobile.The 18+ set uses 2,269 LEGO pieces to recreate the classic Bat-vehicle as it appears in Tim Burton’s best Bat-movie. The sleek design features a number of hidden features, including the Penguins’ tracking device and removable canopy to access the cockpit. But the coolest feature is the transformation into the Batmissile: Press a button on the back of the model and the sides drop away to reveal the slime Batmissile look, just like in the escape scene from the film.Also featured in the set is a Batman mini-figure featuring a new cape and cowl element to recreate the bulkier look of Michael Keaton in the movie.Priced at $229.99, the LEGO Batman Returns Batmobile set releases on September 4th, with LEGO Insiders getting early access beginning September 1st.
