[Editor’s note: The following contains spoilers for Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness Episode 7.] In case you forgot that Barack Obama is an executive producer on Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, the final episode of the Larry David-starring sketch comedy series included a big reminder with an extended appearance from the former Commander in Chief, playing himself. Did this entire show exist just to give Obama the opportunity to poke fun at the intense controversy that surrounded his 2014 decision to wear a tan suit during a press conference? The final sketch of the season implies as much. In the sketch, Larry’s just hanging out in the Oval Office with Obama as he explores his wardrobe options for an upcoming press conference — which do not include a tan suit, as Obama plans to save that for a more casual event. The two men riff together on a number of topics including what kinds of foods can’t be eaten while wearing a tie (apologies to soup and pasta), whether or not Obama can ski, and the whole “say hi to someone for me” thing being kind of silly.
