Larry David Reveals First Look at New American History Sketch Comedy Series

HBO has revealed the first look at Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, his new American history-themed sketch comedy series. The seven-episode series premieres Friday, August 7th.

David previewed the series during an appearance at SXSW on Friday (via Variety). Each episode will contain about fourth sketches, featuring a cast that includes both Curb Your Enthusiasm alumni and other Hollywood luminaries such as Bill Hader (as Abraham Lincoln), Kathryn Hahn (as Mary Todd Lincoln), and Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes (as the Wright brothers). One sketch will see Jerry Seinfeld join David to portray Lewis and Clark.

Also set to appear on the series is Barack Obama, who serves as an executive producer on the series alongside Michele Obama.

In the first clip released from the series, David plays finds himself in the middle of V-J Day.
