Julian Casablancas Says James Murphy Is the “Brett Favre of Indie Rock”

During The Strokes’ headlining set at Just Like Heaven 2026 on Saturday night, August 22nd, lead singer Julian Casablancas said he felt like a “silly fucking goose.” As part of his onstage banter, he called LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy the “Brett Favre of indie rock.” “What a pleasant surprise.
