On Tuesday, Charley Crockett posted a defensive new missive on Instagram in which he sought to further explain his decision to drop Satanic doo-wop group Twin Temple from his own tour. In Crockett’s latest explanation (which has since been deleted from Instagram), he mainly cited production requests that “raised eyebrows,” while also acknowledging he didn’t think Twin Temple’s Satanic aesthetic was “right for an all-ages audience.” Crockett also directed some anger at Jack White, who subsequently offered Twin Temple an opening slot on his own tour. “[He] used it to sell tickets too and I lost a lot of respect for him,” Crockett said of White. He also hilariously questioned why White “wasn’t so outspoken back when he was in the White Stripes 20-something years ago. They purposely avoided political issues.
