It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is returning for season 18 next month.

The hit show is now the longest-running live-action sitcom in TV history, and FX has confirmed that the next season will launch on Monday August 17.

It will premiere at 9pm ET/6pm PT on FXX, FX and Hulu, and will also be available to stream on Disney+ around the world.

While the past three seasons have been comprised of eight episodes, the upcoming season will bring this number up to 10.

Returning for the new season are the usual cast, Charlie Day (Charlie), Glenn Howerton (Dennis), series creator Rob Mac (Mac), Kaitlin Olson (Deandra) and Danny DeVito (Frank).

Across the 10 episodes, the show will find them discovering a newfound appreciation for neurodivergence, dealing with unemployment due to workplace automation, getting lost in conspiracy theories, finding a way around the general public drinking less, and trying to get their hands on a dead woman’s inheritance.

Earlier this year, Shelly Desai, who was well-known for starring in It’s Always Sunny, passed away aged 90.

As well as the series, he also had credits in The A-Team, Friends, ER, Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? and Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as films including Phantom Of The Paradise, Toys, Thelma & Louise and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2.

Before then, actor Rob McElhenney last summer made the appropriate legal filings to have his name officially changed to “Rob Mac”, and later admitted that he thought the move was “kinda douchey”.

Mac was interviewed by NME for the Soundtrack Of My Life series, in which he shared the songs that mean the most to him.

When asked about “the song I can’t get out of my head”, he responded with the Eagles’ anthem ‘Fly, Eagles, Fly’, a song that had been on loop for him in the lead-up to the Super Bowl. He also listed songs by The Beatles, Bon Jovi, Rage Against The Machine and Johnny Cash.
