Grandmas House announce debut album, Baby You’re A Winner

The band's first full-length release follows their 2025 EP Anything For You, with "Baby You're A Winner" arriving after previous single "DOG". The new track sees guitarist-vocalist Yasmin Berndt, drummer Poppy Dodgson, bassist Zoë Zinsmeister and guitarist Polly Jessett flesh out an "expansive" rock number grounded by Berndt’s raspy lead.

Speaking about the song, the band share, “‘Baby You’re A Winner’ is a rock n roll love anthem about seeing the beauty in your loved ones when they can’t. It’s about the frustration of your friends or partner not being able to see themselves for the winner they are - an ode to bring you up when you’re feeling down.”

Baby You're A Winner expands on the band's previous three EPs with a more "layered and involved" approach with the help of producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, Yard Act), this time, focusing strongly on vocals and harmonies across the twelve tracks.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, the band explain: “We wrote this album about the existential crisis of going through life. It’s about love and infatuation but also about grief and loneliness. It’s emotional, powerful, sad and a good time all at once.”
