Every week, a rising artist will feature on The Cover – you can read Girl Scout’s profile here, written by Hollie Geraghty and featuring photography by Jakob Ekvall.

Alongside The Cover, Girl Scout have curated a playlist titled ‘Songs That Narrated Our Childhood’, featuring tracks by some renowned artists, including Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Fleetwood Mac and more. Listen to the full playlist on Spotify below and on Apple Music.

In their Cover story, Girl Scout reflect on their journey so far, from line-up changes to “accidentally” settling on their name, and the impact small venues in the UK have had on the group. “These places in the UK have been very important for us,” says guitarist/bassist Kevin Hamring. “There weren’t a lot of venues for us to play [in Sweden] when we started out, but the UK was full of life when it came to that. It was really a place where we could get going.”

“Coming to a venue and seeing Coldplay played here half a year before their debut album was released,” drummer Per Lindberg adds, “[we saw] that was a stepping stone for them as well. Without those venues, where would they have gone? Where would everyone else go?”
