Formed in 1967, Fairport Convention pioneered the blend of traditional and electric instruments that became known as electric folk. The current touring lineup features founding guitarist/vocalist Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg on bass, Ric Sanders on violin, and Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin, and vocals. Drummer Dave Mattacks will join them for the diamond anniversary concerts.
The autumn run opens at The Brewhouse in Burton-on-Trent on 6 October and closes at The Regal in Tenbury Wells on 1 November. Stops include Sheffield, Liverpool, Falmouth, Twickenham, and the Isle of Wight. The diamond anniversary shows are set for Perth Concert Hall on 24 May 2027, Manchester New Century Hall on 25 May, Birmingham Town Hall on 26 May, and London’s Union Chapel on 27 May.
Fairport Convention’s 2027 celebrations will mark 60 years since the band formed. The anniversary concerts will feature special guests reflecting the group’s history.
