Echo & The Bunnymen to return with first album of new music in 12 years, Apples For Isaac

Apples For Isaac follows 2014’s Meteorites, and the band’s compilation album The Stars, the Oceans & the Moon released in 2018. After years of touring the classics, the new collection of songs is said to mark a bold and confident return for Echo & The Bunnymen. “Brussels Is Haunted” lands as the first preview, and sees the band investigate the lives of characters who have come and gone in the Belgian city.

The album was produced by singer Ian McCulloch, who also tasked himself with mixing, alongside Alan Moulder and Andrea Wright. In addition to McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, and the band, late drummer Clem Burke — who was best known for his work with Blondie — also played on ten of the ten tracks.

Commenting on Burke’s contribution, the band share: ”The mighty, legendary Clem Burke - longtime friend of Mac - was integral to the making of the album, and heartbreakingly passed away during its completion... love you Clem X”

Over the next few months, the band will play a short run of shows across Europe and the United Kingdom. This will include two shows at London Regents Park Open Air Theatre right after the release of Apples For Isaac, on 22 and 23 September.
