Dinosaur Jr. Unveil New Single “Blowin’ Up”: Stream

Dinosaur Jr. has unveiled “Blowin’ Up,” the second single from their upcoming 13th studio album, There Near. One of two album tracks penned by Lou Barlow (and featuring the lo-fi god on vocals), “Blowin’ Up” doesn’t entirely share the fuzzy guitars and extra sunny vibes of lead single “Several Got Away.” It does, however, feature “pointed and timely attacks on our current regime,” according to a press release. With melodies that maintain a “friendly mien,” and lyrics that “cut like knives,” it sure sounds like the best version of Dinosaur Jr. Listen to it below. It was recorded over the course of a year at Bisquiteen Studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, by the core trio of J Mascis, Murph, and Barlow.
