The quartet – Jo Bevan on vocals, Rob Hardy on guitar, Simon Drowner on bass, and Caz Helbert on drums – will follow up 2024's No Hero. Lyrically, the lead single follows a character who has “cashed in and moved to LA or somewhere exotic and is mistakenly under the impression that they are now blissfully balanced”. “It’s sort of sympathetic but also caustic as they’re lording it over the people they used to know whilst still clearly being a bit of a mess and scared of how old they’ve become,” Bevan says. “A lot of this album is about the horror of becoming aware of your own mortality – but, you know, in a fun way.” The band's UK tour opens at Brighton’s Hope & Ruin on 7 November, followed by Hare & Hounds in Birmingham on 10 December, The Locker at New Century in Manchester on 11 December, Bodega in Nottingham on 12 December, The Exchange in Bristol on 13 December, and The Garage in London on 16 December.
