Desert Hearts Announces Desert Hearts Microfest in NorCal

While the main festival might not be taking place in Arizona this year, the DH crew announced they have something special planned: Desert Hearts Microfest in Northern California.

For over a decade, Desert Hearts has brought house, techno, and love to those willing to open themselves up to the weird and wild side of the dance music spectrum. There has been plenty from their crew to make hearts thump over the years, from impressive releases to massive tours, and of course, the annual Desert Hearts Festival that brought their community together.

Unfortunately, the festival was placed on hiatus this year, as Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, and Marbs looked to recoup their energy and approach it with fresh eyes in the future. Yet the hopes for a gathering that were previously dashed have resurfaced, and today they revealed some exciting news: the debut of Desert Hearts Microfest.

Desert Hearts Microfest wasn’t planned, but came about after the crew went to Deloro Valley in Tuolumne County, just east of Stockton and near the Stanislaus National Forest. “The moment we stepped onto this beautiful property in Northern California, we knew we couldn’t wait another year to gather with our Desert Hearts Family,” the DH crew said on Instagram.

So, in lieu of a full-scale Desert Hearts Festival this year, Desert Hearts Microfest will take its place on October 1-5. Dubbed “a microdose of Desert Hearts,” this intentionally intimate affair will allow their faithful followers to camp under the stars or stay in a cabin, lodge, or house right on the property. And according to the trio of DJs, yes, there’s even a pool.

Every ticket includes tent camping, and guests who bring a vehicle must select a parking pass or a car camping pass at checkout. Lodging upgrades include Lodge Rooms at the heart of Basecamp, Private Cabins in a quieter pocket of the property, Pool House Suites near the pool and snack shack, and a limited number of Private Houses for large groups. Those looking to glamp can also opt for pre-set Bell Tents, and RV camping is also available.

There’s no lineup available yet, but if you look at past editions of Desert Hearts Festival and its satellite events, you can get a good sense of the vibes they curate. Beyond the music, there are a ton of activities planned, from frisbee golf and archery to ziplining and lawn games, not to mention wellness activities like yoga, the on-site sauna, and more. Food and beverage vendors curated by the DH crew will also be on-site to provide some tasty offerings.
