When Chloé Caillet is making music or DJing, she intentionally aims to communicate a feeling. On “Change”, her most recent team-up with “brother separated at birth” Alessi, that feeling invigorates the freedom and euphoria she’s found over years spent on the dance floor. The single, released under Ninja Tune, continues to pull from Caillet’s palette inspired by 90’s rave culture and her lived-in experiences. Her superpower is found within the collective energy from the world and her surroundings. For that reason, she is “never making music alone.” “Change” became an embodiment of the collective energy that defines her personal approach to creating dance music. Coming together when Caillet and Alessi met up after a troublesome four months of touring, it became the first song she intentionally poured the weight of her emotions into. “When I hear [“Change”] back, I hear the emotions in it, but I also hear the sense of wanting to come together and feel that collective energy,” she explains.
