Charli xcx to welcome new era with new song, “Rock Music”

The news comes after Charli told music writer Laura Snapes in a Vogue interview that “the dancefloor is dead”, and that she’s now making rock music — suggesting that her eighth studio record would be a rock album.

Last week, on her alternative Instagram account b.sides, Charli also explained how the new track came to be, writing: “was staying in paris in an apartment above the studio. woke up and had an idea for a song that made me lol. i told the guys and it made them laugh too. so we made "rock music".”
