BTS have announced they will not be submitting their new album ‘Arirang’ at the 2027 Grammy Awards. It comes after the Recording Academy recently confirmed a new Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, at next year’s event which will recognise “artistic excellence” in Asian pop music originating from Asian markets, and entries must have meaningful use of one or more Asian language. Each member of BTS has now shared an identical statement on their individual Instagram Stories confirming their refusal to submit their record for inclusion. “We have decided not to submit our work to this year’s Grammy Awards.” they stated. “We hope music can be heard and loved for itself, beyond regions or languages.
