Bruce Dickinson has teased that his upcoming new solo album, recorded earlier this year at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606, is “heavy as shit.” The Iron Maiden singer has confirmed that the new album will come out in 2027 as the follow-up to 2024’s The Mandrake Project, which was accompanied by a comic-book series and other multimedia aspects. He said the upcoming record is a return to a more traditional album release. Get Iron Maiden Tickets Here Dickinson said of the forthcoming album, “It’s kind of stand-alone. There’s one song that has a bit of something to do with Mandrake. Now, the album is heavy as shit. I’m not digging into Mandrake‘ I think Mandrake has a life now on a comic book level, so it can just go on the basis of story and everything else. I don’t need to associate music with it unless it’s a really good idea.” The recordings took place in January and February of 2026 at Grohl’s Los Angeles studio with producer Brendan Duffey, who also helmed the Mandrake sessions.
