Now embarking on a solo career following her time with microtonal jazz quartet Dazey & the Scouts, Wedl also joins the likes of MJ Lenderman, Death Cab For Cutie, and more. Exploring a “grungetry” sound, a combination of grunge and country, with "Six O'Clock News" arriving as her first new music this year.

Discussing the song and signing, Wedl says: "I first heard ‘Six O’Clock News’ on the Cities 97 Sampler CD around 2003. There’s no doubt that this song shaped my songwriting voice. Originally written by Kathleen Edwards, ‘Six O’Clock News’ is a story about the hysteria of gun violence in an American town. To record and sing this very contemporary story with Waxahatchee over twenty years later is a direct link to the very heart of why I play music. It’s an honour to be joining the ANTI- roster and I’m ecstatic to share what we’ve been working on.

"Brennan and I really bonded over our mutual love for Kathleen Edwards's music," Katie Crutchfield, the singer-songwriter behind Waxahatchee, adds. "It’s such a powerful song with timeless appeal and I'm just thrilled to get to release our take on it."
